Below is my topology. Root bridge for vlan 1, 172 and 3 are Switch B... Root bridge for vlan 2 is Switch A.
Problem I'm having is that if I enable Switch A Vlan 172 as the
Active HSRP MSFC, I can no longer get to the internet through 172.16.1.8
(FireWall-1 running StoneBeat software). If I set it back to Switch B MSFC
everything works fine. I thought that if I have a trunk between the two switches
that Switch B would send the packets through the trunk to reach 172.16.1.1
on Switch A MSFC? This has me stumped and I know I'm overlooking something
staring me right in the face.
I've also got static arp entries for the virtual of the FireWalls (172.16.1.8) on all MSFC's, as well as static CAM entries on the 6500's so that the multicasts only go to the 2 firewalls. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
